Glenn H. Brown Prizes were established to advance and diffuse knowledge of
liquid crystal states of matter by encouraging effective written and oral
presentations of doctoral research results.
At the 22nd International Liquid Crystal Conference to be held June 29 - July
4, 2008 at Jeju Island, Korea, the ILCS will award a total of (US$)4,000 for
outstanding theses (up to 4 @ $1,000 each) completed between January 1, 2006
and December 31, 2007. Theses on theoretical, experimental and/or applied work
on thermotropic, polymeric and/or lyotropic liquid crystal systems will be
considered.
Prize winners will be introduced at the opening session of ILCC 2008. Winners
will give Glenn H. Brown Invited Lectures, write an article that will appear
in Liquid Crystals Today, and be guests of the ILCS at the Conference Banquet.
