The ILCS Featured Liquid Crystal Art of the Month is selected by a very small jury, just one or two persons. In 2019 Dr. Antal Jákli at at the Kent State University, USA, will do the selections. A new selection is done five days before the end of every month, such that the new Featured Liquid Crystal Art of the Month page can be prepared in time for the start of the month in which they apply.
Antal Jákli has received his PhD in Statistical Physics at the Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest, Hungary. Currently he is Professor at the Department of Physics and Director of the Chemical Physics Interdisciplinary Program of Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, USA. His work focuses on experimental physics of bent-shaped liquid crystals, and polymer-liquid crystal composites.
